Nikola Madžirov

BIO

Nikola Madžirov is a Macedonian poet, editor, and translator, and a welcome guest at international literary festivals. Among other honors, he has received the Hubert Burda Prize for European Poetry and has been a fellow at the University of Iowa and the Literatur-Raum in Berlin.

His works—translated into more than forty languages—have served as the basis for compositions by jazz musician Oliver Lake, who has worked with artists like Björk and Lou Reed. His poetry book in English, Remnants of Another Age, was published by BOA Editions in the US and Bloodaxe Books in the UK, while his German poetry book, Versetzter Stein, was published by Hanser Verlag in Germany.
