Mission Statement

The KUNSTSALON KREMS creates a space for encounters between those who share a passion for art and an enthusiasm for the Kunstmeile Krems and its institutions: Kunsthalle Krems, Landesgalerie Niederösterreich, Karikaturmuseum Krems, Forum Frohner, and AIR – Artist in Residence Niederösterreich. It brings together networkers, enthusiasts, and philanthropists who recognize the importance of art and culture in our society and who are actively committed to it. The KUNSTALON KREMS is the meeting place for art enthusiasts in the UNESCO World Heritage region of Wachau, where international contemporary art and important art from Austria are uniquely concentrated.

The mission of the KUNSTSALON KREMS is to promote Krems as an international city of art and culture, to strengthen cultural identity in Krems, and to finance ambitious projects of the Kunstmeile Krems.

The members of the KUNSTSALON KREMS include private individuals and prominent figures from business, society, and culture who come together in Krems, Vienna, and the surrounding area for numerous art events. The focus of the program is on the visual arts, but it is still important to the KUNSTSALON KREMS to offer its members a multifaceted and cross-genre cultural program. At least once a year, the KUNSTSALON KREMS organizes an exclusive ART TRIP for its MEMBERS.

Founded in 2018, the KUNSTSALON KREMS has already implemented numerous projects, such as the commissioning of works, complex building renovations, art transports, or educational offerings for children and young people.
