Pakistani artist Mohsin Shafi talks about the art in his exhibition at Kunsthalle Krems as part of an Artist Talk. In conversation with curator Andreas Hoffer, he provides insights into his own artistic practice and the personal experiences that shape his work. The focus is particularly on a large-format photo collage that combines traditional symbols of Pakistani culture with queer motifs to create an opulent, uncensored parallel world. This tableau represents a vision of freedom in which cultural and sexual identity can coexist harmoniously. Mohsin Shafi also provides insights into the creation of the work during his stay at the international scholarship program AIR – ARTIST IN RESIDENCE in Krems.
