Pakistani artist Mohsin Shafi talks about the art in his exhibition at Kunsthalle Krems as part of an Artist Talk. In conversation with curator Andreas Hoffer, he provides insights into his own artistic practice and the personal experiences that shape his work. Shafi is intensively engaged in the idea of the third space – a place created when two cultures, value systems or identities touch without fusing. His works explore themes such as desire, queerness and the fragile architecture of care. During the joint exhibition tour, visitors will have the opportunity to hear from the artist himself about his intimate works, which are imbued with great sensitivity, and the aesthetic visual language that combines his cultural background with the methods of international contemporary art. Mohsin Shafi also provides insights into the creation of the work during his stay at the international scholarship program AIR – ARTIST IN RESIDENCE in Krems.
