For many years, Tom Korn has dedicated his artistic practice to exploring the architecture of post‑war modernism. Avant‑garde concrete buildings in the former Yugoslavia, holiday resorts on the Costa Blanca, department store façades, and brutalist icons are reinterpreted through a variety of techniques and media.

His process always begins with photographs of buildings, taken during extensive travels. These images are then further developed through hand drawing or digital work. In doing so, he extracts architectural details or condenses built structures into their essence, creating two‑dimensional works that simulate a third dimension through accentuated color schemes. When reduced to graphic ornaments or patterns, the presence of concrete structures can offer a new perspective—one detached from architectural norms and habitual ways of seeing.

At the same time, he develops sculptural objects and installations on different themes and at various locations: concrete-built quotations, architectural visions made from found materials, inlay works using diverse media, or settlement‑like structures made from cardboard boxes and hot glue.

In recent years, Tom Korn has also immersed himself in a wide range of printmaking techniques. Beginning with screen printing as his introduction to printmaking, he has, through various scholarships and workshop residencies, learned letterpress, etching, risography, linocut, and lithography. He now uses these techniques for architectural experiments and edition prints.
