Myroslav Laiuk
Myroslav Laiuk is a Ukrainian writer and war documentarian. Born in the Carpathian Mountains, he now lives in Kyiv, where he teaches at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. He is the author of three novels and three poetry collections, as well as the works of non-fiction Bakhmut (2023) and Lists (2025), which combine literary reportage with cultural, historical and social reflection. Since 2022, he has been documenting life in frontline and liberated areas. His books have won the Yuri Shevelov Prize and the BBC Book of the Year Award. His writing has appeared in The Dial, Gazeta Wyborcza, Eurozine, Literary Hub, Politiken, Reporters, the Los Angeles Review of Books and the New Statesman.
