Laura Itandehui will open this year's Glatt&Verkehrt Festival on July 12th in Spitz together with Caoimhe & Séamus Uí Fhlatharta. The Mexican guitarist and singer is also planning to create new compositions for her solo album, which she intends to record later in 2025. The focus of these compositions will be on various genres of Latin American popular music, including bolero, ranchera, joropo and Peruvian waltzes. In order to achieve this, she will work intensively with the harmonic structures, melodies, thematic content and rhythmic patterns of these forms. For the first time, she would also like to compose music in the style and language of jazz, a genre which she studied intensively during her studies but which she has not yet been able to return to in her most recent work.
