Gamze Yalcin Kooperation mit Silosophie
"Silosophie" is an association that, since 2019, has been transforming massive grain silos into large-scale works of art – turning once austere storage towers into radiant landmarks of the future. With color, vision, and artistic sensitivity, these rural monoliths are reimagined as poetic beacons in a changing landscape.
For the upcoming project in Traismauer, the association has invited Turkish-born artist Gamze Yalcin to take part. Her work – vibrant, abstract, and full of energy – can be found on canvases, textiles, and building facades across the globe. Now, in collaboration with the Silosophie team, she will transform the highly visible silo tower in Traismauer into a radiant artwork using hundreds of liters of paint and the lift of a cherry picker. During her residency, Yalcin draws inspiration from the surroundings of Traismauer: from wide open fields, rolling vineyard hills, and the steady, quiet flow of the Danube. These impressions flow into her creative process, merging with her distinctive visual language to create a piece that brings the dialogue between urban creativity and rural poetry vividly to life.
