The stage is set!
The Karikaturmuseum Krems is in the fever of the Eurovision Song Contest
The Eurovision Song Contest is getting a whole new stage at the Karikaturmuseum Krems! To celebrate the museum’s 25th anniversary and the 70th anniversary of the Song Contest, visitors can look forward to a special program centered on Europe’s biggest music competition.
Artists at Eurocature are paying tribute to the eccentric characters and dazzling stars of Eurovision history in a specially created series of caricatures, which will be displayed both inside and outside the museum. As an official side event of the Eurovision Song Contest, a series of exciting events will accompany the countdown to Europe’s biggest music competition. Look forward to an artist talk with Elisabeth “Lizzi” Engstler, an entertaining Eurovision quiz, and an atmospheric open-air choir concert featuring the best Song Contest hits to sing along to. A special treat for fans of the Eurovision Song Contest is the discounted special ticket for €12, available from May 8 to 17, 2026, exclusively in the online ticket shop.
Eurovision icons with a touch of humor
From Eurovision veteran Udo Jürgens to Conchita Wurst depicted in a version of Edvard Munch’s famous painting “The Scream” and Cosmo’s dance card: Under the title “Caricature Goes Eurovision Song Contest 2026,” 63 cartoonists from 19 countries have reinterpreted the world of Eurovision. The caricatures, displayed in the museum foyer, in the public space across from the museum, and on social media, invite visitors to discover the world of the show with all its highs and lows—and above all, with a wink. The Eurocature series was created in collaboration with the Karikaturmuseum Krems on the occasion of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. The international cartoon festival Eurocature, organized by Bernd Weidenauer, Birgit Vlk, and Joachim Rick, brings cartoonists from all over the world together in Horn (Lower Austria) every year.
