STOP-MOTION STUDIO
Images in motion – workshop with creativity and team spirit
How is an animated film made? How many individual images are needed to create the illusion of movement? This workshop provides an introduction to a fascinating medium and shows how stories, thoughts, and ideas can be transformed into moving images. Using digital storytelling methods and stop-motion techniques, participants can experience the world of animation and film.
The workshop begins with an inspiring guided tour of one of the exhibition venues on the Krems Art Mile—the Lower Austria State Gallery, the Kunsthalle Krems, or the Karikaturmuseum Krems. Participants then bring their own ideas to life in short stop-motion films in the Krems Art Mile studio.
Creative collaboration: Team spirit required!
Small teams work together to develop concepts based on initial ideas. Storyboards help to structure thoughts and translate them into visual form. The technical implementation is carried out using iPads: drawings and objects are moved and photographed step by step until a smooth animation is created. The process requires coordination, collaboration, and creative solutions—this is how different perspectives are combined to achieve a common result. The resulting films reflect not only artistic expressiveness, but also the team spirit that made them possible.
