On the road in the World Heritage Site

Discover the Wachau World Heritage Site through art: get to know different styles of art, discuss content and gather your own impressions. The Wachau has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site for 25 years. What makes this region so unique and worth protecting?

Why has it always fascinated artists? How can we contribute to the preservation of such landscapes and intangible cultural assets? In the exhibition, young people explore different artistic perspectives on the Wachau. They discover how the region was portrayed 100 years ago, learn about artistic styles and discuss the role that artists played in the discovery and development of this unique cultural heritage.

During the 90-minute guided tour, the young people work on digital image collages on the Book Creator about the future of the Wachau. They combine historical and contemporary elements and delve deeper into the content of the old depictions. By adding colors, shapes and photographic elements, personal perspectives are incorporated and images with their own narratives are created.
