PAINT IT
Creative, experimental, and critical: In this workshop, young people discover the various possibilities of painting as a medium of expression. Based on a topic of their own choosing—drawn from their daily lives, personal experiences, and individual understanding of the world—they develop their own artistic approach through the painting process: affirmative, contemplative, critical, or defiant.
In the process, the young people engage with different modes of representation. They experiment with naturalistic, abstract, and symbolic visual languages, exploring the dynamic interplay between form and content. How does a statement change depending on the choice of representation? When does color reinforce a message, and when does it deliberately contradict it?
A central focus of the workshop is an in-depth exploration of color. Through targeted color experiments and guided exercises, the young people learn to use color consciously and to reflect on its effects. The painting process is understood as a space for thought and experience: thoughts, feelings, and observations find their way onto the paper through color and gesture. In addition to small-format, individual color compositions, large-format collaborative works are also created. Using a wide variety of painting materials, the young people experiment with collaborative working methods and experience painting as a social, communicative process.
