Forest Longing
When is a forest a forest? What animals live in our forests? What do the forest floors have to do with a skyscraper? Young people discover the forest through art from different perspectives: as a place of longing, a natural space, an ecosystem, a political issue and the source of countless stories.
From fairy tales to climate change, from hunting scenes to recreational sports - the forest is a place that inspires our imagination and caricaturists and artists. Students immerse themselves in the topic in a humorous and critical way using stories, caricatures, cartoons, comics and all their senses.
Animal specimens from the zoological department of the Provincial Collections of Lower Austria and hands-on stations with natural materials create a sensory experience in addition to the artworks and allow them to immerse themselves in the many facets of the forest.
The young people gain inspiration for a poetic letter to the forest of the future and a critical forest collage, as well as for their own next forest excursion.
During the 90-minute guided tour, they will creatively create their forest of the future from paper, old book pages and natural materials.
