Discovering the World Through Art

Special Education Program

Art can evoke emotions, change the way we see the world, inspire wonder, and much more. This program invites children and teens to develop their own ways of engaging with art.

During an interactive guided tour at a museum of their choice, participants explore selected works of art with all their senses. They view the artworks from different perspectives, share their impressions, and discover that there can be many different answers to the same question. The focus is on curiosity, perception, and the joy of discovering together.

Content, pace, and methods are tailored to each group. Clear structures, easy-to-understand language, seating options, accessible entry points, and multisensory methods enable an individualized approach to art. Tactile materials, sounds, colors, and personal observations open up different ways of engaging with the works.

Between the exhibition visit and studio work, a longer break provides time to settle in, rest, and have a snack. This allows the impressions from the guided tour to sink in during a pleasant atmosphere before the group engages in creative activities.

In the creative session that follows, the impressions gathered during the tour are processed in the studio. The students use various materials and techniques to create their own works. Here, too, the focus is on the individuality of the children and teenagers.
