PROTECT YOURSELF FROM CORONA


Registration is currently not required to visit our exhibition venues (no time-slot booking).
A negative corona test is also not required for individual museum visits.


To ensure the safety of your visit to the museums, please take note of our protective measures against the coronavirus:

KEEP YOUR DISTANCE

  • Keep a distance  to all persons who are not members of your own household. Please avoid group-like gatherings. Thank you for your patience as waiting times may occur at the entrance of certain spaces or areas.
  • If you use our smaller elevators, please do so only alone or with persons from your own household.

WASH YOUR HANDS

Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and use our disinfectant dispensers. The use of personal disinfectants is prohibited in the exhibition spaces for conservation reasons.

COUGH ETIQUETTE

Cough and sneeze into a handkerchief or the crook of your arm.

WEAR MASK RECOMMENDED

During your entire visit the wearing of a mouth-nose protection is recommended.

CONTACTLESS PAYMENT

We recommend contactless payment at our ticket counters (cash card, Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club, American Express).

ONLINE TICKET – SUMMER OCCASION

We recommend that you purchase your ticket online before your visit in order to minimize contact with others. The online ticket will be sent to the e-mail address you provide. Online tickets can be printed out as print@home tickets or displayed digitally on your smartphone. You can enter the museum directly with your online ticket.

ACTIVE STATIONS, LISTENING STATIONS & STOOLS

Please disinfect your hands before using books, headphones, materials and active stations. Please wipe down the museum’s stools before use with disinfectant from our dispensers.

GUIDED TOURS

  • Guided tours of up to a maximum of 25 participants per group are allowed.
  • Guided tours is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • Advance registration is required for some events. More detailed information for each event can be found in our event calendar on our website.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your booking. There may be short waiting times at the ticket counter and in the checkroom (lockers).
  • Please keep a distance from persons who are not members of your own household.

GROUP BOOKINGS

  • Guided tours of up to a maximum of 25 participants per group are allowed. Our visitor services are happy to advise you.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your booking. There may be short waiting times at the ticket counter and in the checkroom (lockers).
  • Please keep a distance from persons who are not members of your own household.

EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE GUIDED TOUR

  • We are happy to offer you and your family members guided tours of our museums and exhibitions outside of our regular guided tour times. Please arrange your exclusive tour appointment at least 2 weeks in advance. Our visitor services are happy to assist you.
  • Guided tours of up to a maximum of 25 participants per group are allowed.

CLEANING

Washrooms and toilets will be cleaned more frequently and all door handles and high-touch surfaces throughout the building will be cleaned several times a day.

IN CASE OF ILLNESS

If you have a fever or a cough, or you are short of breath and have difficulty breathing, please stay at home.

COVID-19 CONTACT TRACING

  • You have the option to provide your personal information such as your name, address, telephone number and email when visiting the museum. This information will be stored for 28 days in order to facilitate contract tracing by the health authorities in the event of a suspected case of COVID-19.
  • We have set up registration options for this in our foyers or at the ticket counters.

EVENTS WITH MORE THAN 100 PEOPLE

  • Proof of a valid negative test for SARS-CoV-2 in accordance with the “3-G rule” (tested, vaccinated, recovered) is required to participate in events with more than 100 people such as workshops, guided tours or artist talks.
  • You must register to participate in an event (name, phone, email). This information will be provided to the authorities if requested for the purposes of contact tracing, otherwise it will be destroyed 28 days after the event.
  • Keep a distance to all persons who are not members of your own household.

“3-G RULE” PROOF OF NEGATIVE TEST FOR CORONA

Proof of a valid negative test for SARS-CoV-2 in accordance with the “3-G rule” (tested, vaccinated, recovered) is required to participate in events with more than 100 people such as workshops, guided tours or artist talks. These include:

  • Negative antigen test
    valid up to 48 hours from sampling
  • Negative PCR test
    valid up to 72 hours from sampling
  • Negative antigen self-test registered in an official data processing system of the federal states
    valid up to 24 hours from sampling
  • Negative school test currently conducted in Austrian schools in accordance with official requirements
    valid up to 48 hours from sampling
  • Proof of vaccination
    valid from the 22nd day after the first vaccination for 3 months. After receiving the second vaccination, the validity of the vaccination certificate is extended to 9 months. In the case of a single-dose vaccine, proof is valid for 9 months.
  • Medical confirmation of a past infection
    valid for up to 6 months after the end of infection

Proof must be presented in connection with a photo ID.
In case of persons under 12 years of age, their legal guardians must provide proof.
