Alfredo Barsuglia
Krems Dominikanerkirche Dominikanerkirche Ausstellung
Living culture
The artist Alfredo Barsuglia turns the Dominican Church into a "living space for Krems". In his artistic intervention he uses garbage that was disposed of at the Krems waste recycling facility. The building material for the sculptural living space is roughly equivalent to the amount of garbage in two containers that fill up in just one day. Barsuglia’s spectacular art action responds to the urgent issues of our time: waste, sustainability, but also energy scarcity and our use of precious resources. The grand interior of the Dominican church serves as the contrasting backdrop for this temporary, artistic experiment.
