Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the scholarship program AIR - ARTIST IN RESIDENCE Lower Austria, Karikaturmuseum Krems will be showing artist Frank Hoppmann’s portraits of European politicians in Excursus # 5.

Having submitted work in the Digital Submissions category, Frank Hoppmann received an AIR - ARTIST IN RESIDENCE scholarship in 2018 as part of the SOKOL Award ceremony for digital caricature, critical drawing and satire. Born in Germany in 1975, the artist will spend the summer of 2020 in Krems as a scholarship holder.

Hoppmann's work has appeared in the satirical magazine Eulenspiegel, as well as the magazines “Welt”, “Welt am Sonntag”, “Münstersche Zeitung”, “Rolling Stone”, the “Los Angeles Times” and “Handelsblatt”. Karikaturmuseum Krems exhibits a selection of around 20 portraits of political personalities from the artist's private collection.
